: Ann Romney Is Working It

dangatorium:

By Bill Dixon

People don’t deserve respect for the gender they were born into.

Mitt Romney’s wife, Ann Romney, was attacked by a Democratic strategist (some broad) for “never working a day in her life.”

Ann Romney was, in fact, at home raising a family of five boys and a man-child…

You’re in a car with a beautiful boy, and he won’t tell you that he loves you, but he loves you. And you feel like you’ve done something terrible, like robbed a liquor store, or swallowed pills, or shoveled yourself a grave in the dirt, and you’re tired. You’re in a car with a beautiful boy, and you’re trying not to tell him that you love him, and you’re trying to choke down the feeling, and you’re trembling, but he reaches over and he touches you, like a prayer for which no words exist, and you feel your heart taking root in your body, like you’ve discovered something you didn’t even have a name for.

To live in this world, you must be able to do three things:
to love what is mortal; to hold it against your bones knowing
your life depends on it; and when the time comes, to let go.

—Mary Oliver

Humans are the only animal that blushes, laughs, has religion, wages war, and kisses with lips. So in a way, the more you kiss with lips, the more human you are. And the more you wage war.

velvetblory:

not much

there’s not much to say
and there’s not much that
can be put down in
a letter
but
we managed to
catch
love one night;

there weren’t
any fireplaces,
there wasn’t
wine
or snow

it was in
a normal room,
with normal
furniture,
and

normal walls

it was
an accident,
a good one,

but
now there’s just
the smell of the
cab and
the lonely voice
of the lady on his
radio

I asked my mom if she believed in magic, and she sighed heavily and said “I don’t believe in anything, anymore,” looking off into the distance and looking teary-eyed while playing Facebook gambling games.

This is kind of outside what this blog usually contains…but this is very telling.
